HCG Diet Cravings
While uncommon, it is possible to experience cravings if you are participating in Dr. Hoffman’s HCG diet. The common triggers for food cravings may include:
- The taste of certain foods
- Stress
- Emotional eating habits
- Food addictions
- Seeing certain foods
- Smelling certain foods
- Thinking about food
- Just simply being around foods that you need to avoid can be tempting!
Because many of the aforementioned issues are real and often difficult to work through, here are a few helpful items that can assist you in your goal of not cheating, and sticking to your recommended treatment plan.
- Teas such as green tea or peppermint tea
- Essential oils and aromatherapy
- Using mint leaves either in beverages, salad or to nibble on
- L-Glutamine has been found to be a wonderful digestive amino acid that can help with food cravings
- Stevia is a natural sweetener that can help make beverages more exciting and decrease cravings. (You can find many flavors of stevia at the clinic at low cost)
- L-Tryptophan is another wonderful amino acid that can help with cravings, especially if you have a hankering for carbohydrates
- Emotional Freedom Technique is something that Dr. Hoffman will use in special circumstances to help you overcome cravings
Remember, overcoming cravings is something that takes time and diligence. You are participating in a program that is designed to help you reach your goals in an effective manner, and your needs are important.
